Whitelisting an IP Address

If you've noticed that WatchTowerHQ is unable to connect with a website, it could be that your host is blocking the connection. In this case, you'll need to whitelist the IP address. The process is different for each service, but here are a few of the most common.

Whitelist an IP in Cloudflare

If a website is hosted with Cloudflare then it's likely that a firewall is blocking the IP. These steps will walk you through adding the WatchTowerHQ IP to the IP Address list in a Cloudflare account.

1. Log into Cloudflare
2. Fina a firewall icon and click on it
3. Click on "Tools" tab to access IP Addresses
4. List the IP address under IP Access Rules by typing in the WatchTowerHQ IP
5. Complete the process by selecting "Whitelist" and selecting the website associated
6. Once finished, click "Add"

Whitelist an IP in GoDaddy

1. Log into GoDaddy and look for the "product page".
2. Underneath "Website Security and Backups", look for the account you want to use and select "Manage"
3. Click "Firewall" in the navigation
4. Select "Settings" and then click on "Access Control". If there are multiple domains within Sucuri, you'll need to click on the gear icon for the desired website and then click "Access Control"
5. Click "Whitelist IP Addresses"
6. Type in the IP addres in the "Add new IP" field and select the length of time that you want to allow the address
7. Once done, click "Whitelist".
