Checking the URL
The URL of your website may be causing WatchTowerHQ to have connectivity issues. It's a good idea to check whether or not your site is "HTTP://" or "HTTPS://" and make sure that this reflects in the website's settings.
- 1
- On the Websites page of WatchTowerHQ, find the website with the disconnection error and click on "Edit" (pencil icon).
- 2
- Check the URL space in the site's information. If it is "HTTP://" and the site is served over HTTPS, then this can cause the plugin to display an error.
- 3
- Fill in the correct URL for the website ("HTTPS" or "HTTP").
- 4
- Click "Save Changes" to keep the new URL.
- 5
- Once done, refresh the page. If this is the issue, the plugin should display the correct data.
Fixing a DNS Error
DNS errors can occur for a change of IP address. Sometimes, this will result in an error within your dashboard until the new IP propagates everywhere.
- 1
- Check your hosting account (e.g., GoDaddy, Bluehost, HostGator, etc.) for the website's most current IP address and compare it to the one in your WatchTowerHQ account. If they don't match, then this could be the culprit.
The host is Blocking the Connection
The website's host could also be blocking WatchTowerHQ's connection to the site.
- 1
- If you use a CDN such as Cloudflare or a security plugin like Sucuri or Wordfence, these entities can block your connection to WatchTowerHQ.
- 2
- You will need to whitelist the website's IP address with your provider.
